Gotta have a friend in Jesus

Prepare yourself, you know it's a must
Gotta have a friend in Jesus
So you know that when you die
He's gonna recommend you to the spirit in the sky
-Norman Greenbaum

I brought Jesus with me to all my tests, I asked, he said he had a free morning (which really did surprise me considering the state of the world) so I brought him along.

I have a rosary which belonged to my father's great aunt, which is crystal beads and has the most beautiful cross I've ever seen. So I wound it around my wrist and kept is close at hand.

Now, any of you that know me well, know I'm not especially religious, but like the song above says you gotta have a friend in Jesus and he did have a free morning...

OK, so I have a friend of mine in Norway doing Reiki treatments on me. What's Reiki, I can hear the questions.

OK, this is Reiki. (from reiki.org)

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Now before you say I'm nuts, delusional, insane or desperate, I gotta tell you this morning when I woke up I felt this feeling of euphoria as I lay in bed. I don't mean I wanted to leap up and throw balloons around and have a party. But I laid there and this lovely feeling was all over me, like right after you've gotten out of a hot bubble bath and you feel so relaxed and so gumby-like. And mentally I feel great. I'm not moping around, crying, hysterical, thinking about planning my funeral, or having a panic attack. I feel alive, awake, full of energy and what have you.

IS it the Reiki? Have no clue, but damn, if it is I recommend this to each and everyone out there, sick or not.

I am loving this journal, BlueSky! It's not dwelling on problems, but has a ligthearted approach. And they do say attitude is 99% of the battle.

I think that the better attitude you have, the better your life's quality will be. As you said, it's not like you're planning a party, but when you feel at peace with yourself, it helps your body heal.

If heard the theory that we may 'catch' cancer many times- most cancer's are virus' gone wild- and when your immune system is down, we have a better chance of not fighting off the virus. Doing the things you are doing, you are raising your immunity.

Keep it up and know there are many people out here sending good vibes to you too. Marilyn

I think you're doing a great job in trying things like the Reiki. Even if it doesnt work, it means that you have a mind to fight this. Keep your head up darling :)

Hi Keri,
You're fighting a great fight! This cancer thing is a real b---h to live through, but live through it you certainly will! You have the right attitude and are doing the best things you can. Just keep up the positive attitude as best as possible. Also, my one word of advise is keep stress at a minimum. What is important now is you!
I'm here for you,
Mari
